Valeo put on an open house at their facility in Troy, Michigan for Tech Day ’25. They presented their innovative work toward tomorrow’s car interior, wherein displays, sensors and software are combined to create a personalized, intelligent, and connected user experience.

At the center of the interior demonstrators was a clear evolution of software-defined vehicles. Valeo’s software team illustrated how vehicles will rely on centralized computing power, cloud base development, and modular ‘cartridge’ upgrades. Engineers presented real-time workflow where new graphics and new user interfaces can be developed, tested and deployed over the air.
Valeo asked us to come up with a new theme for the display background, and ‘Red Wings Over Comerica Park (baseball stadium)’ was selected. The team integrated a ChatGTP-simulated image of the Detroit Red Wings into the instrument cluster, showing how flexibly Valeo’s AI assisted design environment could potentially work in the future.

The display systems themselves included pillar-to-pillar dashboard screens with AR-HUD projection for clear and immersive visualization while keeping the driver’s eyes on the road. Hidden cameras behind the instrument panel monitor the driver and passenger, while adaptive software personalizes the environment in real time. All this combined with Valeo’s smart climate control demo showed how integrated cabin temperatures can be adjusted seamlessly using camera data that identified passenger’s clothing and skin temperature, delivering comfort while optimizing power efficiency, vital for EV range.

Another interesting piece of technology was Valeo’s steering wheel integration. They showed how seamlessly controls can be embedded using miniature touchscreens in the steering wheel; the driver can use them for navigation, media, and conferencing. With the touch of a button, the driver enters autonomous mode, jump into taking notes, or join a call directly from the steering wheel. The broad theme was intuitive technology to enhance safety without distraction.

Overall, the interior demonstrators showed how Valeo is innovating in software intelligence, technology integration, and scalability. Through smart surfaces, multiple displays and adaptive software, the company is describing their vision of how drivers and passengers will interact with tomorrow’s vehicles.
