Gentex and Antolin have agreed to cooperatively bring dimmable sunvisors to Europe, leveraging Gentex expertise in electrochromic dimmable glass and Antolin’s specialty in interior systems.
Traditional opaque sunvisors block part of the forward view. As DVN-I has previously covered, Gentex is applying their expertise in electrochromics – well applied on the road for decades now, primarily in mirrors – to make sunvisors as transparent panels which can darken automatically or on demand to reduce sunlight glare without obstructing the driver’s view.
As a strategic partner to leading European automakers in overhead and interior systems, Antolin brings deep expertise in industrialization, interior architecture, and large‑scale integration.
The Gentex-Antolin collaboration aims to see that the dimmable visor becomes a robust, safe and seamlessly integrated part of the vehicle interior.
