Forvia has published a very interesting press release about the new “Intelligent Seat” concept. AI‑driven sensors and actuators automatically adapt the seat to the driver’s situational needs.

In its IGNITE roadmap, unveiled on February 24, 2026, the group placed Seating alongside Electronics in its Growth cluster. The seat is no longer just a trim component. It is becoming a lever for content, differentiation and margin. In 2025, Seating generated €8.2 billion in sales, with a target of €8.7 to €9.1 billion by 2028.

The LinkedIn post showcases that direction through an intelligent seat able to adjust up to 10 parameters according to occupant morphology and driving conditions. On its website, FORVIA presents this approach through its Transformer Seat, combining advanced sensors with massage, heating, haptic feedback and embedded lighting. The logical takeaway is that the seat is evolving into a software-driven comfort platform, not just a foam-and-mechanism assembly. More sensors. More algorithms. More value per vehicle.

In a February 2026 award announced with Luxeed in China, FORVIA said the final product would include real-time automatic seat adjustments powered by dedicated algorithms, plus lightweight structures and zero-gravity seats. For interior specialists, part of the next battleground is the seat itself.
