The CarUX story is mainly about the industrial perimeter change created by the Pioneer integration. CarUX completed the transaction on December 1, 2025, with Pioneer officially becoming part of a cockpit-focused Tier-1 controlled by Innolux. Reuters reported in June 2025 that the acquisition was valued at about JPY 163.6 billion, and highlighted the logic behind it: combining CarUX’s display and touch expertise with Pioneer’s automotive audio systems and HMI software capabilities.
For OEMs, this could create a supplier able to address display, acoustics, infotainment and cockpit software as one integrated offer, whereas sourcing structures often remain fragmented.
