We are just finalizing our summary of DVN Munich, and we’ll share it next week on 3 March. In the meantime, have a look at the presentation speech and all the pictures on the DVN website.
China is relaxing on the Chinese New Year holiday, getting ready for the March-April marathon that will include ALE and the Beijing Autoshow; DVN will be there for both with Wolfgang and myself attending. And we at DVN are preparing our annual USA event. This week we’re happy to share our preliminary work. The theme for this year’s DVN US event is
American & Global Lighting Innovation for Next-Gen American Mobility
I’ve been in talks with my close contacts in the States to home in on topics we should cover, and here I bring two of them into focus:
Everybody know the geopolitical turbulence and constraints we are facing currently; we cannot ignore them. What are the effects for our vehicle lighting community? What are the challenges? How are the supply and value chains affected? How about our community? This is a big topic I want to cover this year. That is why I want to invite purchasing team to our event.
Functional development is also major. Lighting is not a component anymore, but an experience. You need software to control the lamps. Software includes skills, organization, risk management like cybersecurity, development way of working, and testing methods. Software-defined vehicles are meanwhile revolutionizing the possibilities and transforming our whole industry. AI is pushing the limits. How does it affect our lighting world? OEMs face a revolution, and lighting teams are at the leading edge of the revolution, so tiers 1 and 2 need to follow. There is much to talk about!
As usual, we will talk, listen, and learn about innovation, optical development, design, safety, and regulation. Take a look at the brochure and make plans to come and join in!
As part of event preparation, I will be in Detroit on 25 March. We are devising an afterwork event focused on design (exterior, interior, CMF) and how lighting is interacting, followed by a DVN cocktail for DVN members. This will be a nice moment to exchange and be ready for June event; find information here.
Feel free to drop me an email for more details and save a spot.

Sincerely yours,
