Cupra’s Tindaya showcar is said to point the way to future model design features, with design inspired by volcanic landscapes and copper-brown rock formations.
Interim Cupra CEO Markus Haupt says the car “is not a dream, not even an ambition; this is our Cupra statement, and it’s going to be a reality”.
The car is 4.72 m long, with a 1/3 cabin to 2/3 body ratio and high ground clearance. A key focal point is the ypsilon-shaped central structure holding two detachable roof panels.
There’s a driver-oriented cockpit, with a steering yoke (maybe they’ll learn from Tesla’s mistake?) with satellite buttons and a 24-inch digital speedometer inspired by video games. This large screen is paired with the ‘Monitor +’ which displays driving data directly on the windshield.
Seats and central console are upholstered in sustainable ‘bio-attributed’ leather complemented by waxed bronze microfiber material used throughout the interior, while structural elements are made from 3D-printed aluminum.
The traditional center console and passenger side area are deliberately free of any screens or devices.
