Last Month, Audi launched a new electric coupe model in China, the E5 Sportback, which features an immersive HMI experience created using the Kanzi toolchain.
The E5 Sportback combines German luxury with local Chinese intelligent technology. The innovative design includes a 59″ 4K through-type ultra-clear large screen and ‘Smart Island’ control system.
In the intelligent cockpit, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 automotive-grade chip powers an 8-screen matrix that includes a 59″ 4K panoramic display and dual 7″ electronic sideview mirrors. A voice assistant provides a smooth and natural dialogue experience, as evidenced by its MOS score of 4.65. (Mean Opinion Score, MOS, is a measure used in the domain of quality of experience and telecommunications engineering, representing overall quality of a stimulus or system)
The ‘Smart Island’ control system combines touchscreen and physical roller inputs, supporting customization for over 50 quick-access functions. Together with 27 perception hardware units and an advanced driver-assistance system, it ensures comprehensive safety.
The HMI system was made possible through the deep integration of the Kanzi toolchain. As a core development platform covering the instrument cluster, launcher, and vehicle control interfaces, Kanzi leverages 3D rendering technology and workflows to deliver a refined interactive experience.
