The IAA Mobility show in Munich showcased a wide range of innovations across the automotive industry. While many headlines focused on the rebound of German Premium 3, the surge of Chinese brands and new EV debuts, this year’s event was structured in two distinct formats: a traditional motor show within the Congress Center and an open-air exhibition spread across Munich’s city center.
Driving Vision News was on site doing interior coverage from the opening days of the show, some of the best automotive booths and the city vibes of motor shows which are now closer to Design Weeks than traditional exposition.
Audi Concept C
The Audi C presentation booth in the city was the best of the show with an entire scenography which was walking us slowly to the car thanks to lights animation and sound.

The interior of the concept is inspired by the first generation of the Audi TT, with simple extruded volumes and light bar underneath the dashboard to give a floating aspect to the second layer of the dashboard. (see DVN Interior coverage from last week)

Avtr Vision Xpectra
This concept car is a modern vision of a limousine with EV motors and luxury interior. Lighting abounds in the interior for design, style, pizazz and function, especially in the header panel and the roof.

BMW iX3
The new BMW iX3 is a giant leap over its predecessor of the same name.

The lines of the ‘floating’ instrument panel flow directly into the large door trim panels, creating an enveloping wraparound effect for the passengers. With its fabric surface, the instrument panel with atmospheric backlighting contributes to the warm and inviting atmosphere inside. Large window surfaces and the optional panoramic sunroof with ‘climate comfort glazing’ generate an ambience bathed in light.
The welcome sequence commences as soon as the driver approaches the vehicle and, as they take their seat, an animated greeting begins in the panoramic vision and central display.
Cupra Tindaya
This showcar embraces its namesake’s dramatic character, with a radical yet simple exterior and interior design.

The experience is elevated through advanced ‘phygital’ (physical/digital) interaction. There’s a central ‘Jewel’, described as a ‘sensory and symbolic interface’ that awakens the vehicle, adjusts driving modes, and transforms the atmosphere through lighting, sound and ambient responses. There’s a projection band at the base of the windshield, and haptic controls. A high-fidelity sound system created in collaboration with Sennheiser turns the cabin into an immersive, resonant space.

Hyundai Ioniq Three concept
The cabin design creates environments that feel warm, intuitive, and calming. By embracing soft volumes and user-focused layouts, it fosters a sense of serenity and clarity. A symbolic character integrated throughout the car evokes curiosity, joy and emotional connection, offering playful storytelling through ‘hidden surprises’ and interactive design elements.

Some nice lighting details are present in the concept, such as pixel light in the steering wheel for information and messages, backlighting underneath the dashboard for a floating effect, and a screen on each side of the dashboard giving information toward the outside area.

Kia EV2 concept
This car is designed to blend seamlessly with the demands of busy urban lifestyles. It features a vibrant interior with strong use of sustainable materials.

Diagonal LED lighting on the front door cards beautifully accentuates the contrast between the front and rear spaces, creating a striking visual effect. Complementing this is the triangular-pattern lighting and a unique LED dashboard animation, which together create a relaxing and inspiring interior atmosphere.
Lighting is overall used to give a floating aspect to the interior design and highlights the nice texture work done in the interior.
