Indian company Shilpi Cable Technologies, a maker of cables for telecom, automotive, and consumer-product applications, are getting into the LED lighting business under the brand “Safe”.
“We have already introduced wires, switches and MCB and now we are entering LED light segment,” says CFO Ajay Mahajan. The company are entering the LED segment with a full range of products. Initially these are outsourced, but Shilpi plan to develop their own LED products eventually. Aside from the domestic Indian market, operations are under way in Singapore and Hong Kong, with the next markets on the list being South Africa and the United Kingdom.
