Truck-Lite , a leading New York-based maker of lights, lamps, and reflectors for heavy-duty vehicles round the world, have joined the Driving Vision News community. They trace their roots back to the early 1950s, when their first product was a hermetically sealed range of lamps to address commercial vehicle owners’ and operators’ frustration with lamps that couldn’t cope with the rigours of heavy-duty service. More recently, Truck-Lite were first to market with an all-LED high/low beam headlamp in the widely deployed 7-inch (180 mm ø) round form factor. It quickly supplanted tungsten sealed beams in military vehicles, and subsequently civilian versions were released. That product is now in its second generation with all-new optical technology and technique, and the range now includes a 200 mm x 142 mm rectangular version and the first model-specific heavy-duty truck front combination lamp with LED high and low beam.
This is In addition to an enormous range of standard-fit lamps meeting American and international UN standards and now incorporating the well-regarded UK Rubbolite and US Signal-Stat brands.
Truck-Lite’s engineers and executives are passionate about innovative and good vehicular lighting, and are engaged with the greater community—notably via the TSEI (Transportation Safety Equipment Institute), a US-based consortium of makers of vehicle safety equipment, systems, and devices.
We extend a hearty “Welcome aboard!” as Truck-Lite join their colleagues in the DVN family, and we look forward to the mutual benefit that always results when a company with a competency and innovation track record such as theirs becomes a part of the DVN community.
