At the Kia Pavillon, I saw the Kia Vision Meta Turismo, with Kia Design Europe Head Oliver Samson. We started the visit with a variety of concept cars – the EV2, EV3, EV5, and EV9.

It was interesting to see the evolution between the concept car and the mass production cars where signature has been simplified to make it production-feasible, while keeping the same spirit and 3D shape.

After this introduction, Oliver explained the light signature evolution we can see on the Vision Meta Turismo, which he called “digital calligraphy with a brush stroke”: a mix of very thin and very thick shapes and lines.

My personal interpretation is that, instead trying to get the most homogeneous signature (you never succeed), he prefers to create different volumes and luminance / orientation to generation emotion.
