Jürgen Antonitsch, as ZKW’s Chief Technical Officer, is responsible for all development sites in the ZKW Group which employs 2,100 people for revenue of €200m. Here is a preview of Driving Vision News’ interview with Antonitsch:
Antonitsch on Strategy
“We have the claim to develop, manufacture and deliver premium products and everyone who is looking for the same is welcome.If we want to be part of the premium suppliers as ZKW, we have to focus on LED applications and also Xenon based intelligent light solutions.”
On 25W Xenon
“It is a good technology for a certain window. In terms of penetration I see a good chance to shift a specific segment which has nowadays halogen in place.
If we look into the 25W HID package then integration will be the key.”
On Adaptive lighting
“ZKW have close relationships to all well-known camera suppliers in the automotive industry. Image processing is their core competence; we focus on developing the light control algorithms.”
On LEDs
“We at ZKW predict for the LED a high potential. But we have to keep in mind that a lot of new questions have to be addressed to get this new technology under control. Robust systems are needed. ZKW are working on several LED programs which will be seen in the market over the next years. Five years down the line I expect better performances but still for a higher prices.”
