Automotive lighting experts have still 3 days to propose a paper to ISAL congress.
ISAL 2009 is not a normal conference in a “business as usual” time. Rather, it must be a sign of the endurance of the auto industry in these financially and economically difficult times.
ISAL has experienced a dynamic development within the past years and was an especially successful conference in 2007 with more than 540 international experts representing all relevant experts of the automotive lighting industry.
Today, automotive lighting systems tend to become part of an integrated driver vision safety system. The research and development on adaptive lighting systems for cars as well as motorcycles and energy efficient and environmentally-friendly vehicles are intensively discussed.
The symposium will be held September 29-30, 2009 at the Technische Universität Darmstadt.
Main topics:
Automotive Lighting Technologies: LED, HID, Adaptive Front-lighting Systems, Evaluation of light distribution, DRL, Styling and influence of technology on styling, Adaptive Rear-lighting Systems.
Driver Assistance Technologies: Potentials and Risks, IR systems, Optical sensors, Camera technology, Human-Machine Interface, Displays.
Regulations: Standards Harmonization and certification, Pedestrian safety regulations, Measuring procedure/Test set-ups
Active and Passive Safety: Distraction of drivers, Protection of unlighted road users Accident (e.g. day-/night time, dusk), Lighting and risk compensation, Marking of vehicles and trucks
