Welcome to the three-hundredth edition of DVN-Interior! A fine, round number for a broad, deep collection of memory shared across our professional community. Perfect time to glance through the windshield and in the rearview, and say what we see.
What strikes me most today: value is no longer concentrated in the cockpit alone. It is spreading throughout the whole cabin, with growing coherence among electronics, ergonomics, comfort, software, and perceived quality. The matter at hand is no longer whether we can add more screens, but whether and how we make the experience clearer, more useful, more desirable – and for whom.
The cabin is becoming a complete system, with trade-offs for modularity, HMI, perceived comfort, regulatory compliance, and software-stack considerations. This changes the way we design, engineer, and integrate; the way we convince a customer, and the way we talk about innovation.
For this 300th newsletter, I mostly want to say thank you to all who read, contribute, challenge, enrich, and sharpen the discussion. A publication like this can exist only where a community of experts isn’t swayed by fashion fads, but keeps thinking deeply about the products and their use.
Next month in Köln (10 OEMs has confirmed their participations), the DVN-Interior Workshop will be an ideal opportunity to put all this on the table, peer to peer, with no unnecessary barriers or filters and no stage effect. That is often where the conversations begin that truly matter.
Come attend, come participate!
