The first edition of the DVN Vehicle Lighting Design Contest, held as part of the DVN Awards ceremony — the most prestigious awards in the automotive lighting industry — has paid tribute to the talent of IED Barcelona.

The project “Prisma”, created by Maxym Boutoleau, Manuel Ramírez and Nicolás Bailetti, fourth-year Transportation Design students, has won first prize in this competition, which challenged participants to imagine what lighting design in the automotive sector will be like in 2035. The proposal by Boutoleau, Ramírez and Bailetti prevailed over 31 entries from five other international design schools, with competitors from countries such as China and Sweden.
The awards ceremony took place on 4 February in Munich, as part of the 39th DVN Munich Lighting Workshop, and brought together an audience of more than 600 experts, researchers, executives, designers, engineers and representatives from the global automotive industry.
