SAIC Audi’s electric E5 Sportback has an immersive smart cockpit featuring Refond Optoelectronics’ miniLED backlight. The 2.43-inch ‘Smart Island’ touch panel uses Refond’s COB white fine-pitch miniLEDs, removing films to reduce thickness while raising brightness and reliability. Refond’s mini COB white local dimming enables precise regional dimming for higher contrast, lower power consumption, and reduced halo, even in direct sunlight. It’s the first automotive application of this technology. The modular ‘dual rollers + touch bar’ interface, backed by a high-brightness (up to 1,000 nits) miniLED backlight, delivers tactile, intuitive control and excellent readability. Even in strong light, the display remains clear and legible. With sliding and pressing functionalities, users can quickly switch central screen content or access shortcut functions. While preserving mechanical tactile feedback, it provides intuitive, flexible operation, allowing drivers to perform actions without distraction.

And the new IM LS6 uses Refond miniLED backlighting. The 27.1-inch 5K dual center screen in IM’s ‘AIOS’ cockpit uses Refond’s COB miniLED backlight, delivering 800-nit brightness and 100,000:1 contrast for an immersive, comfortable viewing experience. Advanced optical design enables a slim, floating screen, reduces halo, and ensures uniform brightness and image quality, offering drivers a clear, wide view at a glance.

The PM-miniLED ultra-thin backlight with precision local dimming enhances brightness, contrast, and visual clarity even in complex environments. With 5120×1440 resolution, high pixel density, and excellent color consistency, the LS6 sets a benchmark as one of the industry’s first mass-produced 5K automotive displays.
