Philippe Aumont has passed away. My friend, colleague, teacher, student, workmate…my brother at heart; a loyal companion and admirable man of rare kindness and great humanity.
It is difficult for me to find the right words to express how I feel since his wife Mary told me of his passing. His departure has left a huge void.
After seven years at Johnson Controls, Philippe shifted to Faurecia (now Forvia), becoming CTO of Faurecia Automotive Seating before joining DVN as manager of our then-new vehicle interior activity.
What a joy it was to convince him to work for DVN. He built the interior activity, working hard to make this difficult business a success. Always kind, always willing to help, never saying no.
He succeeded in creating in DVN-Interior what DVN achieved in lighting: a true community that enabled the business to thrive and flourish while maintaining a pleasant and efficient working environment.
This is a great loss for me, and for all of us. We will never forget what Philippe did for the vehicle interior community, and his serenity, understanding, and respect for colleagues and customers.
All the DVN team members and I express our deepest condolences to Mary Aumont and all Philippe’s family. Truly, he was a great person and a great personality.
