Macroblock presents their latest developments in LED colour-control technology, and showcased a comprehensive portfolio of driver IC solutions for interior and exterior vehicle lighting applications. Through these demonstrations, Macroblock strove to illustrate to automakers and tier-1 suppliers how LED driver technology can support the evolution of vehicle lighting from functional illumination toward communication interfaces and emotional expressions. Macroblock’s technical capabilities attracted strong interest from prominent European and U.S. manufacturers.
At the event, Macroblock presented a lecture titled “Macroblock’s LED Driver ICs Enable the Next Generation of Intelligent Signal Displays and Ambient Lighting”. Addressing the increasingly-stringent requirements for colour accuracy in automotive ambient lighting and display applications, Macroblock highlighted a fundamental physical limitation of RGB LEDs:

Through data visualization, the presentation demonstrated that RGB LEDs exhibit wavelength shift and non-linear brightness under varying current levels. These phenomena can cause noticeable colour shift in colour mixing applications.
To address this challenge, Macroblock presented a solution based on compensation technology embedded within their driver ICs. This technology effectively corrects colour coördinate deviations caused by current variations, enabling lighting systems to maintain stable and consistent colour across different brightness levels.
Macroblock showcased applications that illustrate how front lighting is evolving. In collaboration with their partner Liaowang (makers of the Lynk & Co ISD which won the DVN Best Auxiliary Lamp award), Macroblock presented high-resolution micro display lighting powered by their MBI5353Q driver IC. This solution uses high-resolution monochrome displays to translate complex driving intentions into intuitive and easily recognizable signals. Whether displaying texts or dynamic icons, messages are conveyed to surrounding road users with exceptional clarity and purity, significantly enhancing traffic communication efficiency and safety.
