Forvia Hella’s US Lighting team was honoured with the 2025 SPE Innovation Award in the category of Process, Assembly, and Enabling Technology for their pioneering work on the Piano Key Lens tail lamp on the Cadillac Escalade IQ.
This achievement marks a first in North America: a three-shot rotary injection molding process with reverse ejection for an automotive tail lamp lens. The results is a bold design that improves efficiency, reduces material use by 20 per cent, and supports sustainability, all thanks to the incredible teamwork and collaboration with General Motors, Covestro and Forvia Hella. And this technology also yields a 17-per-cent improved optical efficiency, and 50-per-cent simplified assembly.
