Grupo Antolin have entered a strategic partnership with China-based electronics provider HiRain Technologies to offer interior and exterior automobile lights with high electronics content. At least initially, the target buyers will be local Chinese automakers. The two companies have already started collaborating on some advanced dynamic ambient lighting projects set for commerce in the Chinese market this year.

Grupo Antolin see the collaborative effort as a rung on their ladder towards becoming a top worldwide interior lighting supplier; they predict customers will benefit from the synergies between HiRain’s electronic component expertise and Antolin’s knowledge of system integration and optical capabilities for vehicle interiors. The hope is that these strengths will combine to yield an advanced lighting product portfolio to meet automakers’ increasingly technical requirements. Chairman Ernesto Antolin says “The fast-pacing environment and upcoming challenges in the automotive industry such as autonomous vehicle, electrification and weight reduction will bring a lot of opportunities for our interiors business. With an increasing electronic content in the interior of the car, we believe in our expertise to introduce and connect all these parts in our products as a smart integrator”.
HiRain, headquartered in Beijing, are a major Chinese automotive electronics company specialising in electronic engineering and electronic components. They supply all the major Chinese automakers, and also have branch offices in Germany and the U.S.
