Magna International and Innoviz Technologies are working together on lidar sensor technology for use in ADAS and AVs.
Lidar technology is key to achieving the desired levels of performance and safety. To offer automakers a complete solution for sensor fusion, Magna are integrating Innoviz’s technologies into their ADAS and AV systems under development.
Through the coöperation with Innoviz, Magna have access to a complete range of sensor systems, camera, ultrasound, radar fusion and lidar systems. The high-resolution, solid-state lidar system allows for three-dimensional measurement and generates a precise image of the vehicle’s environment. At the same time, all applicable automotive standards are met, while at the same time considerable cost and size savings are achieved. Innoviz’s lidar system can be seamlessly integrated into any vehicle and also adapts to changing lighting and weather conditions, according to the coöperation partners in a joint press release.
