Ingeneric have launched new microlens arrays made of high-refractive-index glass.
The arrays are moulded with sub-micron precision, according to Ingeneric, and feature
up to 500 individual lenses and dimensions of up to 60 × 60 mm. Applications include beam shaping and light homogenisation.
The makers say their arrays have minimal transition zones, high filling factors, and minimal pitch errors, even in large batches, and describe their moulding process as facilitating optics more complex and with a larger radius:aperture aspect ratio than can be had with etching techniques. Furthermore, the process offers relative radius tolerance better than 0.2%, fully reproducible in serial production. Ingeneric make microlens arrays with aspherical or spherical plano-convex, biconvex, or convexo-concave lenses of circular or rectangular aperture measuring from 0.2 to 3.0 mm.
