Optronik Berlin have been owned by Instrument Systems GmbH since January 2010, and the company claim landmark success for this first year under the new management, especially in Asian markets which proved to be the growth drivers in 2010, including China and increasingly also Southeast Asia.
Optronik Berlin are a leading manufacturer and supplier of light measurement equipment for the transportation sector. They have focused intensively on supplying turn-key photometric laboratories to meet the needs of automobile engineering and traffic signalling. The main products are large goniophotometer systems, retro-reflection measuring systems, and photometers. Leading testing and certification institutes, virtually all major suppliers of automotive lighting, and automakers rank among the customers of Optronik.
“We are very pleased about the positive development of Optronik since Instrument Systems took over the company from X-Rite. Although we anticipated modest investment activity for the core automotive market in the wake of the economic crisis in 2009, the volume of incoming orders booked actually increased significantly. This upturn enabled Optronik to reinforce and continue expanding its leading position in the market for supplying photometric laboratories in the automotive sector. We’re also expecting outstanding perspectives for Optronik in the current business year,” concluded Richard Distl, President of Optronik Berlin and Instrument Systems, in a review of the first year following the takeover.
