It was bound to happen sooner or later: a concept car revealed not with a trailer, in a speech, or with a physical event, but in the make-believe world of a video game.
That was the concept developed by the Peugeot Design Team together with Gameloft for Brands.
The result is both a stunning concept car called Polygon that was revealed online this past 12 November as an integral part of a complete gaming world called Polygon City that you could experience only for 3 days prior to the official world launch.
Gameloft’s Cédric Ratajczak, who pitched the idea of the game to the Peugeot Design Team and later on led the development, said, “This isn’t a trailer. This isn’t a branded map. It’s a fully immersive, narrative-driven experience where players explore, customize, and unlock Peugeot’s new concept car before the real-world reveal.”

This is intended as a way of storytelling that connects with a younger audience. The concept car itself is something very “gamish”, “polygon modelled” and fresh and probably hints at some features that we might see more of in the future.

The concept has a few innovations which, according to Peugeot, will make into production. Such as the ‘Hypersquare’ steering wheel. They’re calling it a new ergonomic approach to the Peugeot cockpit and a fully electronic control system for the vehicle It’s paired with. This is all steer by wire electronic steering technology, with no mechanical link between the steering and the wheels, just pure electronic control. This technology, proven in the aerospace industry, will be available on a production Peugeot vehicle from 2027.
Let’s wait and see if the ‘Hypersquare’ steering wheel makes it to production as well!

The Polygon contains fewer parts than a traditional vehicle. Fewer parts mean a lighter car, greater efficiency, and easier assembly and disassembly at the end of its life cycle.
The seats consist of just three main components instead of dozens in a traditional seat – the shell, the structure, and the foam.
The foam, developed with Belgian company Sixinch, specialists in foam furniture, is made from a single piece and coated with a tinted protective layer.
