A high level panel session with contributions from twelve experts in the field of vehicle lighting and signalling was led by GTB President Geoff Draper at the DVN US Workshop near Detroit a few weeks ago.
Draper launched the session with an introductory presentation summarising the background to the work underway in the World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations (WP.29) and the GTB initiative to propose a two-stage process to simplify the UN regulations, which may also be of interest to administrations not party to the UN 1958 agreement. He also emphasised the important contribution of DVN providing a forum for the eleven regulatory sessions held in USA, Asia and Europe between January 2012 and 2017.
Rainer Neumann, Chair of the GTB SVP and RCNC working groups, provided an overview of the GTB Mission and Vision and introduced the new GTB Regulatory Coöperation and National Coördination Working Group (RCNC) chaired by Rainer and co-chaired by Pauline Lejeune.
