America and Europe both produced in 2007, around 32 million cars and should produce 24.4 million cars in 2010 which is a decrease of around 8 million cars in 3 years.
The auto industry’s production turnaround will continue into 2011. In the first quarter of 2011, North American light-vehicle output will climb 10% from the year-earlier level to 3.2 million units—this according to CSM Worldwide, a unit of IHS.
“China’s premium car market will maintain a growth rate of around 30% in 2011, while its entire automotive market will enjoy a lower growth rate,” Zhang Xiaojun, executive vice-president of the FAW-VW Audi sales division said.

Lighting is becoming a complex system with the headlamp, several sensors and associated software. CLS light system is a good example.
The headlamps are produced by Automotive Lighting and the software was developed in a close relation between Mercedes-Benz and Automotive Lighting.
1) Description of CLS headlamp.
All the lighting functions are produced 71 LEDs and the LEDs for the driving beam-functions manufactured by Philips Lumileds (Altilon). Each individual LED can be controlled separately, which makes all the lighting functions available electron¬ically.
The total number of pieces is approximately 350 which is a huge number.
Lowbeam
3 components are involved, 1 projector sourced by 2 LED modules and 2 reflectors sourced each by 1 LED module.
The adaptive cut-off is realized from the signal of a camera located at the rearview mirror area. The cut-off is in permanence enslaved to the bottom of oncoming front lights or preceding rear lights with a movement depending on the speed of the car and the environment.
