With a good seat, the car becomes quieter. You close the door, turn on the music in the headrest, and suddenly the cabin stops talking to everyone at once. This is not sleight of hand, but a design choice. The experience is centered around you. A sound bubble forms around you, your neighbor’s conversation becomes a whisper, and alerts no longer shout, they whisper in just the right place. We no longer put hi-fi sound systems in a car interior; instead, we frame a private sound that respects others.
The same logic applies to thermal comfort. Rather than heating all the air in the car to warm your hands, we take care of you, right where you are. The seat and backrest create a precise microclimate: you get warm (or cool) quickly, without turning the fan up to full blast. The result: faster comfort, fewer watts, and a few extra kilometers of electric range. It’s a new way of managing energy.
Add a touch of discreet kindness: The seat observes without imposing itself: posture, attention, fatigue. If it senses you’re nodding off, it helps you sit up straight, gently wakes you up, and adds a little warmth where needed. No gadgets, no data leaks, just a butler who knows the house and prefers prevention to cure.
Of course, all this is only valuable if it works well in real life: quiet on the road, functions that don’t interfere with each other, weight and cost maintained over time. The good news is that the ‘studio seat’ and ‘climate seat’ do not require a plethora of equipment; they mainly require consistency and, where possible, optional modules (audio headrests or not, single or dual ventilation, clear comfort profiles rather than thirty menus).
Zeekr has reminded us of the essential: when you design the cockpit around the seat, everything else falls into place and the experience becomes obvious. We are no longer in the ‘wow’ effect of a showroom, we are in the quiet elegance of everyday life. Take off the covers, measure what really matters, you will never feel your seat the same way again. Enjoy the read! And in a future newsletter, we will detail the technical solutions developed by Zeekr and their seat suppliers.
Take care,
