As member of eSafetyAware, Light.Sight.Safety (LSS) was present with a booth at the Millbrook event on the 13th of july. Around 280 visitors from FIA, EU, governemental organizations, customer organizations, fleetownwers and journalists
could inform themselves about eSafety devices, adaptive carlighting as one of them via presentations, demo’s in the different booths as well as on the circuit.
LSS showed there:
– a Mercedes E class lamp with adaptive cut off line,
– an Audi A4 AFS with BiXenon and DRL in LED,
– 3D video Xenon experience,
– Demo adaptive lighting
– Latest GIDAS research results: A video was showing two cases (real situation with halogen vs. simulated situation with Xenon).
GIDAS results:
50% of the analyzed night-time accidents with influence of limited visibility could have been avoided if the cars would have been equipped with Xenon headlamps. This means that Xenon light can avoid 16% of all night time accidents with injuries or fatalities involved.
It was also announced in Millbrook in a presentation from NCAP that 12 eco inovations where announced. It was not clear if lighting was one of them.
EuroNCAP announced in Millbrook that already 12 safety innovations have applied according to the new Euro NCAP Advanced process. It was not clear if lighting was one of them.
