Osram say their second generation of blue multi-mode laser diodes boosts the range to 600 metres and simplifies the system design when used in the auxiliary high beam of the car.
Used as a light source for auxiliary high beam which illuminates the roads further than conventional high beam without adding extra foreground light, Osram’s PLPT9 450D-E A01 laser makes driving at night safer.
Osram Opto Semiconductors’ automotive marketing manager Walter Rothmund says, “With our newly developed laser diode, car lights can be designed and built even smaller than before, without compromising light output. It combines powerful light with compact dimensions”.
