Denso say that starting this month, their R & D satellite in Israel will start collaborating with local startups to develop new technologies in automated driving,
cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence (AI) to augment the work done at existing Denso R&D centres in Japan and Finland.
Denso’s satellite R&D activities in Israel will build on the rise of innovative technologies in the areas of cybersecurity, telecommunications, AI, detection, and software—adding that Israeli companies and technology startups have a track record of successful collaboration with companies abroad, and should play a major role in global innovation in many areas.
Israel’s technological strengths play into Denso’s drive to rapidly develop more competitive technologies, both internally and through collaborative research with local businesses and universities. This expansion comes after an earlier Denso investment in the Israeli automotive communication company Autotalks, and last year the Japanese company—who say they are the world’s largest maker of auto parts—made a study trip to Israel, meeting a series of startups in the area of smart cars.
