Especially striking are the wedge-shaped headlights.

Michael Horn, Audi Lighting Design said for these LED headlights, Audi took the classic Q double arrow and simplified it to create one horizontal and a divided vertical, giving it a dynamic and digital look. The length of the DRL with the vertical accents emphasizes the width and the sporty genes of an Audi SUV.

The rear lamps on the Q2 are remarkable for what they are not: they’re not another iteration of the wide horizontal taillamps that have up to now been an Audi staple. Instead, they have highly sculpted prominent bright and dark recessed areas interspersed with each other. The dark sections contain the turn signals and reverse and rear fog lamps. The prominent section shown here with red light provides the tail and stop light functions. Horns says “The cover glass for the rear lights is heavily sculpted – as on the exterior, we cut recesses out of the basic volume. Behind them we applied fine lines that reflect the light of the LED unit and display the internals and the three-dimensionality of the lamp.”
