GTB has just completed its week-long session in Vienna, hosted by its Austrian delegation, and it has once again shown that the increasing participation trend is continuing.

The main items discussed in relation to the GTB vision and work-plan were:
- How to anticipate the regulatory challenges that will be presented by the new technologies such as “laser light”, “matrix beam”, “next generation driver assistance and adaptive systems”, “OLED’s” etc.
- The GTB study to define new criteria for the compensation of the aim of the dipped beam in respect of vehicle loading.
- Simplification of Regulations
- Technical harmonisation
- The impact of IWVTA on the lighting regulations
- GTB Cooperation with the SAE International Lighting Systems Group and NHTSA
GTB meetings fixed for 2014 are as follows:
- February 2014: Intermediate working group meetings – Torino, Italy,
- May 2014: 117 th plenary session in Granada, Spain
- July 2014: Intermediate working group meetings- Venue to be confirmed
- Nov. 2014: 118 th plenary session in China
Subsequent meetings already announced are:
- May 2015: 119 th plenary session in Belgium
- Nov. 2016: 122 nd plenary session in Taiwan
