ISAL’s on a steady upward trend. A great deal of this year’s subject matter focuses on research and development of high-resolution adaptive and laser-based high beams to improve seeing distance and general driving comfort, as well as adaptive rear lights to minimise discomfort and maximise road safety for following cars. There’ll be presentations on new challenges arising in form of energy efficient lighting for purely electric vehicles and lighting design and functions for autonomous driving.
ISAL 2019 will surely encourage the exchange between lighting engineers, road safety experts and regulatory bodies. The newest research results will be presented and discussed in the best traditions of ISAL and its predecessor PAL.
Last month, the ISAL steering committee selected 58 scientific papers to be presented as lectures, and 20 to be presented as posters from the 135 abstracts received.
