Huhn : “We have now the best environment to convince managers for good products with good safety functions”
Wolfgang Huhn, Audi’s General Manager of Lighting and Vision
DVN : The Audi booth at IAA has a special architecture which design looks like Audi cars. Could you explain how you achieved this?
Dr Huhn: The Audi booth is in line with our total brand design.
Target was an architecture which shows unmistakable that this is Audi, even without any Audi badge, name plate or Audi rings on the outside. This target was clearly met. The white outer surface was built without any gaps. The silver elements have gaps in the shape of the thin gaps of Audi cars. The booth contains a 400 m driving track. It is possible for everyone to co-drive in Audis like the e-tron electric cars, R8 spider, S6, S7, S8 and others. Of course you see the distinctive lighting features of every car while driving or observing. Most of the cars are with LED headlights naturally. A spectacular experience!
DVN: The A2 is presenting a totally new appearance. Do you see it as an advanced depiction of future Audi cars?
Dr Huhn: Maybe…maybe not! To be honest the A2 is a concept car designed to communicate to customers, press and experts about our different technological visions. One of our visions is about lighting, as usual at Audi. We bring a new approach into the discussion to include more communication into the car´s lighting system. One can see in internet films how the car behaves while braking, indicating etc.
