Scott McFarland is the president and owner of Sea Link International, a US-based supplier of automotive lighting components. Prior to starting SLI, McFarland had fifteen years of experience as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for an electronics manufacturing company and a degree in accounting. When he is not working, he enjoys saltwater fishing and being with his family, including his two grandsons. Driving Vision News asked him a few questions to better know the company and strategy.
DVN: Tell us about Sea Link International.
Scott McFarland: In 1993, Sea Link entered the automotive lighting industry, teaming with a Tier I supplier with small custom fasteners. Almost 20 years later, we have grown to manufacturing complete lamps and more than 150 subcomponents for our main global Tier 1 customers in 20 countries. Sea Link is both a solution-provider and product supplier. Our ability to design a wide range of products, from subcomponents to complete halogen, projector, and LED fog lamps as well as headlamp projectors, allows our customers to save critical engineering manpower & manufacturing space and direct research and design dollars to development of new technologies.
DVN: Could you present the range of your products? Services?
SMcF: We have a wide range of products and are constantly developing new solutions to meet customers’ needs. Just a few component and assembled products include bulb shields, aiming adjusters, reflectors, ADC heat sinks for LED lamps, PP and stamped metal support brackets, LED DRLs and fog lamps, halogen projector subassemblies and halogen reflector fog lamps, and CHMSLs.
