A high level panel session debated the relevance for Indian stakeholders of changes underway at UN WP29 and GRE to simplify the lighting and light-signalling regulations and to make them technology neutral; thus removing barriers to innovation.
The outcome of the debate was alignment with the conclusions collected from the previous DVN sessions and commitment to support a GTB initiative to offer its expertise to GRE in an activity to completely reformulate the technical requirements of the UN regulation.
The importance for the Indian stakeholders to form an association to become a full member of GTB was declared and it was agreed that an activity should be started to achieve this in the near future.
