Following the 2017 DVN US Workshop, and in preparation for the upcoming DVN Shanghai workshop, I return to my theme of our “once in a lifetime” opportunity to influence global harmonisation of lighting technical requirements.
At the 2017 DVN US workshop the GTB plan to take the opportunity to synchronise the UN and Chinese requirements was presented by Pauline Lejeune, co-chair of the GTB RCNC Working Group. Pauline explained that, to take advantage of the Chinese plan to simplify the Chinese mandatory GB standards, there is a small window of opportunity between September 2017 and April 2020 for GRE and China (C-GTB) to develop new technology neutral / performance – based technical requirements.
