In today’s newsletter, we bring you a special report on the IAA Mobility event, which highlighted the increasing significance of AI and sensor fusion within the automotive sector, as well as the ongoing competition amongst leading German and Chinese manufacturers.
BMW, the event’s local carmaker, featured their iX3i equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Ride Pilot, an AI-driven system for automated driving using sensor fusion and cloud connectivity.
Horizon Robotics showcased their latest innovations, including SuperDrive and Journey 6. The company currently holds the largest ADAS market share among Chinese automakers.
Close to Horizon’s booth, MobilEye introduced their EyeQ6 chips, designed to support ADAS and AD platforms. These chips are now integrated into vehicles like the Volkswagen ID.Buzz, and are expected to deliver L4 autonomy in urban environments by 2026.
Don’t forget next DVN event, the 8th Sensing & Applications Conference at Wiesbaden, Germany (near Frankfurt) on 19 – 20 November. Learn more and register online.
