This month, Hervé Fayard replaced Jean-Philippe Benoist as Renault’s General Manager of Lighting Engineering. He started at Renault in 1999 as a CAE engineer in passive safety on the first common platform shared between Renault and Nissan, and two years later he was in charge of passive safety engineering on the Renault Scenic II, the first minivan (MPV) to earn a 5-stars EuroNCAP safety score.
From 2004 to 2016 he took on a variety of jobs including Exterior Packaging Engineer on the Twingo II, then Interior-Exterior Packaging Manager on the Lodgy and Docker with an international team (French, Romanian, and Moroccan). Then for three years he was in charge of strategic sourcing for exterior trim. In 2014 he became Upstream Chief Vehicle Engineer for the next Captur, then Platform Leader Euro6C for all ranges.
