Driving Vision News: Heinz, you have been involved in automotive lighting for many years. What is your function inside Philips? Can you tell us more about you, your education and your career?
Heinz Berghorn: Yes. It is a real pleasure to reply to “Driving Vision News”. I have a technical background with a Master’s Degree in Engineering (Electronics). Out of my nearly 28 years of experience serving PHILIPS as a company, I have dedicated my career mostly to Automotive OEM businesses like car systems, in-car entertainment, displays, sound systems, and telecoms. I`ve held different positions in manufacturing, quality, development, product marketing, global sales, and general management. This includes assignments outside of Germany in Japan and Portugal. Only 7 years ago, I joined the dedicated world of automotive lighting as General Manager in Plauen/Germany covering industry and aftermarket NARVA Sales. Since 2005 I am responsible as VP for Commercial OEM activities within Europe and Global Key Accounts.
