After a first-quarter sales rise of 32%, VW expect to produce 1 million cars from its 2 Chinese joint ventures.
China now has more than 56 million cars, including 35 million private cars, and 87 million motorcycles. There are now 107 million licenced drivers in China, and production growth is around 11%. These figures mean China is now the world’s second largest auto market, behind the United States, with about 8.5 million vehicles sold last year.
