WeRide reported total revenues of $24M with robotaxi revenues growing 761% to $5M. Net loss was $43.2M. WeRide now has trials and operations in 11 countries and more than 30 cities with a fleet of 750 robotaxis and 1600 L4 vehicles. At 20 trips per vehicle per 12 hour shift in the UAE the company expects to achieve break even on a unit basis and profitability coming as they reduce remote safety supervisors from 1:3 to 1:10, increase ODD, increase average trip length and expand to 24/7 operation.
Robobus operation is also active in Belgium, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Guangzhou has ordered 100 robobusses and Hong Kong plans to deploy over 500 L4 taxis and busses in the next three years. WeRide is also licensing its WePilot software to auto OEMs and the latest version will be rolled out with Chery and GAC.
While Q3 robotaxi revenues were still small, we should expect to see a significant scale up in 2026, and with a path to profitability, this will pave the way for much broader operation from WeRide as well as some of its competitors as we move forward to the end of the decade.
