GM reported an increase in Q3 revenues and said that Super Cruise now has 500,000 active subscribers and zero crashes in 700 million miles driven. Revenue is projected to reach $200M by the end of the year for the L2+ system and the company targets gross margins of 70%+ through the end of the decade. This is an impressive crash statistic, versus some of the data we see from other leading EV vendors. We also saw a couple of OEMs making announcements for future L3/L4 systems last month, including GM with an eyes-off, hands-off system for the 2028 Escalade IQ, and Lucid with an Nvidia powered system in its upcoming mid-size SUV. BMW also secured approval for its hands-off L2 system (launching in the iX3) in Germany.
The next step of improvements in autonomous driving systems is coming from software advances and in particular next generation VLA based systems which add reasoning and memory to the models. This month we interview Deeproute.ai and talk about VLA. Felipe Melhado also visits Valeo to see the latest in sensor integration.
We have a full slate of speakers and exhibitors for our November conference in Germany. This is a great event to engage with other members of our ADAS community, and we hope to see you there. The latest agenda is available on the DVN website.
