Hella next year will supply Chinese automaker Geely Automobile Group with electronic parts, including body control modules, sensors, actuators and exterior and interior lights.
Hella expects to supply the electronics to 50,000 to 100,000 vehicles on “many platforms,†says David Yang, Hella’s director of sales and marketing for China.
Hella currently supplies Geely with headlamps, taillamps and fog lamps for Geely’s Meirenbao coupe, which is also called the Beauty Leopard.
In the next few years, Hella expects to supply parts on cars that Geely plans to export to North America and Europe, says Jörg Buchheim, Hella’s Asia-Pacific vice president and sales director.
Hella also is trying to expand its business in China with two other domestic automakers, Chery Automobile and Chongqing Changan Automobile.
